Sr. Account Director – Ericsson UDN Service Provider Sales
 
Position Profile:
Ericsson’s Unified Delivery Network (UDN) is a global content delivery and edge computing platform facilitating unique partnerships between content providers and service providers. UDN leverages the pooled infrastructure and market power of hundreds of worldwide service providers to deliver content with higher quality of experience (QOE), lower latency & higher performance. 
We are seeking highly versatile senior Account Directors with a strong background in CDN (content delivery networks) and edge computing technologies, coupled with a track record of new product introduction, new business development skills, and executive sales competency. 
This role will require a broad skill set ranging from (but not limited to) clear understanding of the content delivery and cloud industries.   The role will require lead generation, qualification and negotiation of partnership agreements and contracts with our SP (Service Provider) partners and content delivery customers.
Candidates should have a solid broad understanding of the OTT markets and strong relationships with content providers & service providers in the Americas markets. The sales executive is responsible for maintaining and developing the SP relationships to work on expansion of the core caching network, driving the adoption and deployment of the SP Edge strategy, plus selling a range of associated Value Added Services (VAS).  
SP Sales Account Directors will have a travel requirement of ~ 50% of their time to support customer meetings across their geographic responsibility. Specific regional account focus includes Tier 1 / Tier 2 Service Providers and previous experience with those customers in the Region is a requirement.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
  • At least 5+ years sales experience across at least 10+ Service providers. 
  • Minimum 5+ years of CDN sales, or OTT / OVP platform and media sales experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and negotiation skills
  • Highly responsible, self-disciplined, motivational, creative and confident
 
Requirements that would also be considered a plus, but not mandatory include:
 
  • Experience in a similar role, and a technical and commercial understanding of the global CDN market segment
  • Domain knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and streaming protocols (HLS, HDS, Smooth Streaming, and MPEG-DASH).
  • Knowledge and relationships across Ericsson customer units within the Americas Region.
