Sr. Network Engineer
 
We are looking for a Sr. Network Engineer to join our Chicago team to help us build a global CDN backbone and datacenters. This is a greenfield environment, where we get to start from scratch.
What would you be working on? We are building a brand new global MPLS network and integrating it with the CDN systems. Searching to fulfill engineers to start designing, testing and rolling out the network. This is a unique opportunity to build a network from scratch. This CDN is being built for a very large global customer. You would get the benefits of working for a startup, but don't have worry about the risk, as this company has a very established backing. Below are some other responsibilities:
  • Work on a team to design, test (in our lab) and implement a network designed for video delivery and other applications.
  • Architect and evaluate new network designs for a fast growing network with a global footprint.
  • Evaluate new products and solutions for network infrastructure.
  • Create high and low level network designs for backbone and datacenter networks.
  • Work with global carriers and colocation vendors to design and buildout the global footprint in Asia, Europe, North America and South America.
  • Work closely across functional teams to gather and define network requirements.
  • Perform 3rd/4th level escalation duties.
  • Train NOC and support teams.
  • ...and much more.
Here are some things we are looking for in a candidate:
  • Minimum of 5-10 year of experience within the networking industry.
  • Experience working in a service provider (CDN/ISP/NSP/Carrier), datacenter, financial or large enterprise networks required.
  • Experience working with MPLS, BGP, LDP, OSPF, QoS, IPv6, L3VPN and L2VPN.
  • Experience with IP transit and peering relationships, including a deep understanding of how networks interconnect.
  • Excellent written, documentation, presentational and communication skills.
  • Juniper MX and QFX platform experience desired, knowledge of other platforms is sufficient as well.
  • Familiarity with DevOps processes, experience with Python and SaltStack beneficial.
  • Internet traffic engineering.
  • Certification such as JNCIP/CCNP desired. CCIE/JNCIE certifications a plus.
