About the Job
Solutions Engineers are part of the Unified Delivery Network (UDN) Services team and work directly with clients to deliver UDN's solutions. You will be involved with projects from requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing and customer sign-off. You will work independently, within a small technical team, or with a global technical team in delivering the appropriate solution to UDN's enterprise customers. You will plan, implement, test, and deploy UDN platform configurations to integrate with customer web sites, develop and execute test cases and scripts for customers. You will be working with internal stakeholders, such as Sales Representatives, Product Managers, Technical Support, and Engineering. You will participate in internal projects that help scale the group, implement best practices, and improve our methodology and quality of integrations.
A Solutions Engineer has 5+ years of technical services experience, is self-directed, capable of leading technical activities, managing the customer technical relationship, and assuming subject matter expert responsibilities within the UDN.

Our Solutions Engineers possess the highest levels of both business and technical acumen - understanding customer business drivers, matching those to UDN's technologies, and clearly articulating complex solutions to prospective clients


* Work as a member of a cross functional project team contributing to the technology-based solutions and consult on concept feasibility.
* Own the technical components of a customer integration project including but not limited configuration, debugging, documentation, testing, and go live support.
* Integrate UDN's Solutions including digital media delivery.
* Partner with Business Support, Sales, Engineering, Product Development and Customer Care to resolve issues that arise during customer trials, integrations, or post implementation support.
* Accurately scope implementation timelines for integrations.
* Identify technical risks and provide mitigation strategies.
* Review configurations with other Services team members to ensure quality and accuracy to requirements.


Basic Qualifications:

*Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field or equivalent experience.
* Overall experience: 7 - 10 years or equivalent experience.
* 8 years of experience in a “customer facing” environment such as sales or technical consulting.
* Strong background in Internet Technologies, such as TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, Web Servers, Three Tier Architectures, Browser technologies, Media streaming (Video/Audio).
* Experience in the Media and Entertainment verticals
* Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills appropriate to both technical and management clients.
* Must have experience developing and enhancing strong client relationships.
* A proven track record demonstrating good business judgment, an ability to make decisions, and a passion for excellence.
* Must be willing to travel to approximately 30%.
Desired Qualifications:

* Technical programming background - J2EE, .NET, Web Services, Scripting experience a plus.
* Large account experience (Fortune 500) or Large Systems Integrator Experience a plus.
* Experience with Tier 1 and 2 services providers and telco industry.
* Candidate should have a background with at least one of the following solutions:  On-Demand Streaming, Large File Delivery or Internet Infrastructure
