VidScale is a rapidly growing high tech firm with the first distributed edge compute platform that enables services such as content delivery to be deployed on service provider access networks. Our goal is to enable the next generation of applications such as VR/AR, gaming, IoT, and big data to be deployed in a tiered compute infrastructure that enables massive scale with ultra-low latency. Our first service, a massively scalable Content Delivery service is already in production with our OEM partners. VidScale is poised to disrupt the market in a very big way.
 
Background
 
The candidate will have direct responsibility for the overall management, coordination and evaluation of the Information Technology function and will demonstrate the ability to be strategic, pro-active as well as reactive for IT issues. The individual will have a solid knowledge of Window, Macintosh OS and Linux hardware/software as well as networking to bring immediate credibility to the IT function through his/her professional qualifications and leadership skills.

Specific knowledge and skills required include: 
  • Ensure the reliable of the laptops, desktops and servers
  • Provision new hardware and software
  • Have created and maintained an employee on-boarding process
  • Improve the efficiency of IT through implementing the correct processes to include monitoring, maintenance, patching / upgrade to systems, providing employee support in office and remote sites
  • Ability to create and keep documentation up-to-date with operational procedures to support the company
  • Ability to coordinate the inventory for the hardware and software of the company with other resources in the company
  • Experience managing third party vendors for IT applications
  • Understanding of LDAP and Active Directory Group/User object manipulation
  • Working Knowledge on firewalls, routers, servers, and VPNs
  • Demonstrated ability to develop security processes and procedure
  • Proven experience in corporate network wired and wireless infrastructure as well as implementing and manging a corporate phone system
  • Proficient in MS Windows Server environments
  • 3+ years of experience of Linux system administrator, including scripting, resource management, configuration, performance tuning and monitoring
  • 3+ years of experience in a system administrator role.
  • Strong analysis, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting networks, firewalls, routers, and operating system policies
  • Proficiency in architecting networked ecosystems of switches, routers, servers, desktop environments, security appliances, proxies, VPNs and firewalls
  • Scripting and automation skills with Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, VMware vRealize, AutoIT, PowerShell, Chef, Foreman, etc.
